How do I configure LD5 (A & B Variants) COM ports & Ethernet output?

The LD5 has three serial COM ports (9-Pin D-Type female). All three  COM ports are  RS232 and RS422 compatible. The is also an Ethernet LAN port (RJ45) supporting TCPIP data-communications (using  Static or DHCP addressing).

To configure the the serial COM ports, from the home screen navigate to Config > Config > I/O then select one of the available three COM ports.

Navigate to Config > Config > I/O then select one of the available three COM ports

Each COM port is capable of interfacing different types of data streams. The available data streams will  be different when the unit is in LD5 mode and QC mode.

The streams for the LD5 mode include GNSS NMEAa, GNSS NMEAb, Ext RTCM, LBand RTCMa, LBand RTCMb, LBand Config. The MF RTCM output is available if an MF card is installed.

The GNSS Raw option is only available when the LD5 is operating in QC mode, where it replaces the GNSS NMEAb stream.

Data Outputs Description Comment
GNSS NMEAa NMEA output Typically the calculated position or stats output. NMEAa and NMEAb streams can configured independently to consist of different NMEA log types:- GGA, VTG , GSA etc...
GNSS NMEAb NMEA output Typically the calculated position or stats output. NMEAa and NMEAb streams can configured independently to consist of different NMEA log types:- GGA, VTG , GSA etc...
L - Band RTCMa Veripos RTCM output Veripos RTCM correction as selected. The RTCMa and RTCMb stream can be consist of different Reference stations depending on requirements.
L - Band RTCMb Veripos RTCM output Veripos RTCM correction as selected. The RTCMa and RTCMb stream can be consist of different Reference stations depending on requirements.
L - Band Config Control Information from Veripos L Band receiver Can be used under the instruction of Veripos for troubleshooting or L-band monitoring in Verify-QC software.
MF RTCM RTCM from IALA Beacon Only applicable if a MF IALA beacon card is installed. If selected this will be the single station from nearby IALA station (when in range and received).
GNSS Raw 2 - way serial interface to the GNSS module Only applicable when the LD5 is operating in QC mode. This is the data-stream is required for interfacing the GNSS module to Verify QC only.

After choosing the data stream, the Protocol, Baud Rate, Data Bits, Parity and Stop Bits can be configured to match the interlacing requirements of the connected system, example are shown below.

If the LD5 is required to be interfaced to using the TCPIP socket, the table below detail each data-stream type and its TCPIP port. These details are not configurable. The TCPIP ports are TCPIP Server Sockets (Host). To connect to these ports the TCPIP client must be configured to connect to the LD5 IP address and the port number.

Output Data Stream IP Port Number (LD5 Mode) IP Port Number (QC Mode)
RTCMa 9001 9001
RTCMb 9002 9002
