What is the Auto L-band beam?

L-band beam tracking is required to receive Veripos correction service data. L-band beam configuration options can be found within Configuration > Corrections > L-band.

Configuration > Corrections > L-band

The LD900 receiver supports multi-channel L-band tracking, providing reception of services from up to three satellites broadcasting Veripos corrections simultaneously. This reduces the impact of satellite masking or blocking and helps to ensure continuous reception of Veripos correction services.

Auto is the recommended L-band selection as this will automatically select the three highest elevation working L-band beams for your location and merge all the correction information within the position calculations. If the receiver position is unknown, the selection criteria is a ranking of granted access L-band beams in the order they appear in the beam table stored within the receiver.

Auto effectively mitigates the risk of losing signal from a manually assigned L-band signal and then subsequently losing positional accuracy, such as during increased ionospheric activity. Should an L-band beam be lost when Auto is selected, the receiver will seamlessly use the correction data from the other beams available without any loss in positional accuracy.
